Part funk, part glitch, part indie, all groovy. Hailing from Oslo, Norway this Scandinavian electronica duo is sure to be one of the more upbeat and memorable performances in the desert. Lemaitre (pronounced lem-my-tray) consists of former classmates Ketil Jansen and Ulrik Denizou Lund and boy do these two know their synths. Fusing traditional instruments and original synth melodies seamlessly, every Lemaitre production is carefully crafted and proportioned perfectly.

The viking duo’s 2016 is already off to a massive start with the release of their EP earlier this year 1749. Sonically, this release has a heavy use of piano and takes a few cues from neo-French touch music in the same vain as Breakbot or SebastiAn. Their live set is not one to miss. See you out there at the Polo Club.

French Kiwi Juice, abbrv. FKJ, is a master of the smooth groove. Akin to waking up slow on a sunny Sunday afternoon, his music has a lazy day appeal that is impossible to resist. The freestyle funky basslines and ivory tickling add extra soul to an already velvet essence.

Come get syrupy with us. He’s also coming out to LA the Wednesday after LIB (5|27) for our homies at Ouija Entertainment and L’Affaire Musicale. See you there.

Retro-funky doesn’t even begin to describe Saint Motel. Their 2012 debut Voyeur and its exuberance was received extremely well by listeners in the indie-pop scene. More recent EP My Type has been earning them more clout as a hip 80’s pop-rock outfit. With a live set that is bound to keep you shimmying. Then there’s jazzy piano, horns, and sax thrown in for good measure, Saint Motel have got a certain zest about them that would be foolish to kick off Sunday without.

Saint Motel – My Type

Saint Motel – Benny Goodman

Tomorrow night, CONTROL at Avalon will be going off with some heavy beats. King of the fo-fo-fadi foodchain Trippy Turtle will be bringing his Jersey Club bounce with Pomo and Promnite as support. Alongside his HW&W labelmates and their R&B inclinations, Pomo has developed his own style akin to sultry disco beats. Promnite and the Athletixx team, on the other hand, have been flipping some solid rap style.

All in all, the night is looking to get pretty hood. So get your tickets and get down with us. If you can’t make it out, then strongly consider heading up the coast to SB with our buddies in We the Beat to catch the day-after party with Pomo.

Fasten your seat belts friends. Prepare for departure. Aeroplane is ready to blast off into discoville with a fuel tank filled to the brim with funk and groove. Didn’t know you could operate machinery with solely funk and groove?! It’s never too late to learn something new.

On the real though, this guy has been one of the most consistent disco house producers in the scene. Once a duo, but now the reigns have been taken by Vito and he’s holding his own quite well. The other guy split off and formed The Magician…you may have heard of him. Vito’s remixes and mixes are something we always can count on to be extremely special. Now we get to see him in the snow on the beautiful lands of Tahoe!

Vito is headlining THE IGLOO stage on Monday night, but he’s also playing an afterparty on a boat with Snakehips that same night!!! Everything I love. Get tickets to that here.
