Straight outta’ Cape Town comes Goldfish. The South African duo produces some of the finest – what I like to refer to as – “Gatsby House” I’ve ever heard. Mixing instruments like the piano, flute, trumpet, stand-up bass, saxophone and others with punchy drums and 64-bit synths, Goldfish has been taking over the festival circuit with their one of a kind live shows. Using turntables, electric drums, and a barrage of live instruments, Goldfish has been able to create something completely unique on stage that is for sure a can’t miss performance at Northern Nights. From flappers to hippies, Goldfish will have everyone doing the Charleston.

OASIS FSTVL | Season Pass | Tickets | Event Info

There’s a new tour on the horizon and it is closing in on San Diego. OASIS is a monthly series that runs through all of summer. They will be calling SILO in Makers Quarter their home. The first installment is on Friday 6|13 and features co-headliners The Gaslamp Killer and Oliver. Other talent for the night includes Penguin Prison, Moving Units, JackLNDN, Dadon, and Jimbo James.

The event starts at 6pm so expect to hear lots of good music from all across the spectrum alongside some healthy cuisine and craft brews and spirits. We’ve got 2 tickets to giveaway too!

Hotel Garuda is Manila Killa and Candle Weather. Together, they have created an all encompassing future-house and bass sound that draws its uniqueness from their own solo works (Moving Castle and Weather Tapes, respectively) to stand out from the masses now chasing the growing “future” genre. It is quite refreshing; hearing their music amidst the Redwoods will be most surreal.

One thing we’ve learned about a Le Youth set is that you can never have enough of a Le Youth set. There’s just something about that R&B-chill-house sound that works. To our pleasure, we’ve got him coming back to WAVS this Friday (5|15). He recently released his R-E-A-L EP. Check it out if you’re down with a wide range of remixes.

Local regulars Torosbros, Curt Reynolds, and HEABNASTY will be leading the night. Come enjoy some vibes.

Our buddies at Ouija Entertainment and L’Affaire Musicale are back at it for their Spring Series at Sound! Thursday’s (5|14) installment features some very real talent. France’s fresh Fred Falke just signed to Pantheon Musique with the promise of some new music. His more recent remixes have been teasing dancefloor friendly. Here’s to hoping he does live bass jamming.

Louis La Roche has been on our “must-see” list for quite some time now. His Scenery Mixtapes have and always will be a staple. Catch us going down to funky town. Fellow UK producer, JackLNDN will be adding some deeper summer vibes to the night.

Lightning in a Bottle draws ever closer. And with it comes pre-parties featuring former and future Do Lab acts as well as a preview of the musical vibes you’ll be exposed to in Bradley, CA. Los Angeles’ leg of the pre-party circuit is stacked. There will be vibey beats a la Astronautica and Coyote Kisses; house-ier inclinations from Autograf and Justin Jay; glitchy bass thanks to Dimond Saints, G Jones, and Nominus; and deep playa leanings via Hoj and KMLN.

Moony Habits is a new crew setting up shop in the LA scene. While they’ve a basis in beats, the Moony crew has already set plans to offer so much more in the realm of spacey and romantic. Their very first show features the genre hopping FaltyDL and experimental beat makers Mono/Poly and Mike Gao. The venue: the very intimate Complex in Glendale.

FaltyDL just dropped a diamond new record. Mono/Poly had a killer release on Brainfeeder last year. And Mike Gao has had quite the career that he started out of famed Low End Theory. It’s going to be a wild first show and we’re betting future parties will be just as far out.
