Ouija Entertainment and L’Affaire Musicale return on 7|15 with quite the emotion laden lineup. Oliver Nelson, Hayden James, and Dallas Cotton cover the feelings spectrum in their particular realms of nu-disco, future house, and beats, respectively. That’s not to say they’re limited only to those styles of music, however. Judging from the several times we’ve seen Hayden James, we can tell you that he knows how to work a crowd. Oliver and Dallas both have melodic ranges in their Soundcloud buckets too so expect fire tracks while they’re on deck. That said, this lineup is definitely the most eclectic we’ve seen from this team up.

The sounds of Dino Soccio, Mister Blaqk, January Black, and L’Affaire’s own Maikol only add to the broad range of sounds we’ve come to expect from a Ouija and L’Affaire party. As always, drinks are on the house from 9-10, so come early and listen to the homies start us off in high spirits for what promises to be a good midsummer’s night.

While the fourth generally means going big and spending bucks on big names, the MDA crew sees things a bit differently. For our Independence WAVS festivities, we’ll be bringing everything to you FREE of cover and cheaper at the counter. Beers, Wells, and Gourmet Links of America will be offered at $5 apiece.

Tunes will be provided by the MDA crew and local homies that we’ve met along the way: Daniel Minaya, Mogli, Tang (Wet Hand Dan & Bijoux), and Torosbros. Come celebrate a rather successful youth at the Wayfarer!

Somewhere at the cross section of contemporary dance music and modern Los Angeles cool you’ll find Venessa Michaels. This multitalented artist has hit the scene with her own version of “Date Night House”. She has songs for getting ready, for the ride to the restaurant, and certainly for the nightcap. Fusing elements of future, deep house, r&b and trap, Venessa takes it a step further by supplying her own signature future house style. With the inclusion of guest performers like rapper Tay Jasper and singer Kiana Brown, each track echoes the zeitgeist of today’s electronica while also having mainstream appeal.

The recently released 2090 EP gives us a 4 track sample size of what Venessa can bring to the table. Whether it’s the smooth flow of ‘I Need That’ featuring Tay Jasper or the sexy baseline of ‘Whatcha On’ (definitely influenced by ‘The Whisper Song’), Michaels gives us something for the club, the afterparty, and even the after-after party on the track ‘Sexin’ with my Ex’.

Kill FrenzyTickets

When I started C+A+D I wanted to prove not only to myself but to everyone that if you started from scratch on anything and worked hard enough for long enough you could live your dream. I’m nowhere near where I want to be but I’m a hell of a lot further and wiser ONLY because I started 5 years ago. This Friday, we’re celebrating your continued support with some good ol’ fashioned booty-bass from Dirtybird‘s own Kill Frenzy. There’s nothing quite like a bit of backside grooving as testament to our growing youth.

Come celebrate our birth alongside the homies at Focus, Bones, Burn Unit, and Best Ghost. Trust us, things are going to get real wild.

The summery sounds have been blooming since the weather turned. Yet as June settles in, the gloom begets touching upon the more emotional side of sound. Here are a few tracks to manage those moods.

Hayden James – Something About You (Ben Pearce Remix)

One of the best tracks of the past year, Hayden James’ ‘Something About You’ meets tech and bass stimulations thanks to Ben Pearce. The vocal cuts, as expected, add the feeling and flavour.

Hudson Mohawke – Scud Books

With Lantern, we hear Hudson Mohawke experimenting with his typically beat driven style. ‘Scud Books’ is a prime example of his take on a rousing and anthemic approach.

Bag Raiders – Vapour Trails

The Australian feel-good duo are back on the radar. After almost a year of silence, Bag Raiders release ‘Vapour Trails’ and its a perfect summer chiller that brings out sweeping emotion.

LEISURE – Hot Love

LEISURE‘s psychedelic love-soul sound has had us bad for the past few months. Newest heater ‘Hot Love’ only brings us deeper into their clutch.

Favored Nations – Always

Funky disco-pop from Favored Nations‘ newest track is poetically passionate. The catchy instrumentalism adds a nice level of grooves to ramp up the moves.

Chet Faker – Bend

Left off Built on Glass, Chet Faker‘s ‘Bend’ is a experiment in clamor and mixed emotions. The internal dialogue fits perfectly as a single release jam-track.

Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars (Thero Remix)

This classic graduation tear jerker gets a summery spin from Thero. He adds modern electronics and smooth acoustics that bring the lyrics into the spotlight as truly timeless.

The Acid – RA (David August Remix)

David August adds his subtle and cerebral electronica style to this already heady track. The effect is a late night kicker suitable for those candid brain games.

Mansions on the Moon – The Truth (Eric Sharp and Tenova Remix)

Eric Sharp of RIS Labs and Tenova take Mansion on the Moon‘s hopelessly romantic single and lay on a house twist for those alone-on-the-dancefloor needs.
