This Friday sees the infamous CUFF crews’ Thee Cool Cats coming to Costa Mesa to crash the party. And they’re more than welcome to with their mixed bag of g-house, deep, and nu-disco sounds.

Leading off the night will be MDA regulars Dadon, Jimbo James, and Mogli. Come through for the dancefloor heavy vibes.

Newest addition to mau5trap, Matt Lange produces techno that is dark, melodic, and eerily satisfying. Upcoming release Ephemera has been pre-touted as a work of pure talent that bridges the gap of deep underground techno and creatively personal experimentation. Expect some awesome blending of underground club styles and ominous inclinations.

Daniel Minaya and Ryan Shepherd will be opening the night. Come through for a preview of whats to be in the realm of deeper, darker sounds.

If Gesaffelstein is Dracula then REZZ is Wednesday Adams. From the depths of Niagara Falls, Canada comes this 20 year old producer/DJ with an affinity for the darker side of electronica. Packing morbid synths and punchy kick drums, REZZ has burst onto the dark techno scene with the technical melodic prowess of a seasoned veteran. So far she’s remixed Marilyn Manson and the aforementioned Mike Levy to great effect.

Her original tracks have heavy 303 and garage influences with a more modern tempo and flow. The mixture of booming synths and sweeps add just the right amount of texture and layering to each record. This is especially evident in new EP Insurrection where wobbly fat synth loops and natural snares combine to put you in a head banging daze. Get lost in her rhythms.

One Tribe | Tickets

Advertised as a celebration of differences, One Tribe festival boasts quite the techno and house heavy lineup. The locale of Lake Perris, CA just adds to the allure. With yoga and water activities such as swimming, peddle boats, and paddle boarding soundtracked by some of the finest underground music of the past decade, we can only believe that One Tribe will step the bar up for weekender festivals of similar style. The event planners even decided to share a bundle of free music to help get listeners in the mood. The bundle features sounds from legends and fest-acts such as Gui Boratto, Jamie Jones, Tycho, Carl Craig, Doc Martin, and Damian Lazarus.

The 5-stage party is hosted by B3 and ID&T both of whom are involved in some of the largest events the world over (think: “How Sweet It Is” and “Amsterdam Music Festival”). Both companies were game changers when they stepped onto the scene and here’s to hoping they change it up again with One Tribe.

Leading into the weekend will be The Friday Night Experience hosted by the Desert Hearts crew. The fest runs through Saturday and closes early Sunday. Come prepared with comfortable clothing, water gear, and a good attitude because One Tribe is closing out Summer in style.

LA’s premier music festival, HARD, is coming up this weekend and it boasts one of the better lineups we’ve seen this season. (Sunday Funday anyone?) To help kick off the party early, we’ll be hosting a HSMF pre-party. Headlining the night will be Light Year whose genre blending style still holds a place in our hearts; his HARD 2012 set was something else.

The homie Bones, RYME, and Graff will be providing support for the night. Special guests will be rolling through as well to help keep the moods going. It’s going to be a big night. See you there and again at HARD!

He’s coming to Costa Mesa to drop a DJ set this Friday; expect to hear a wide mix of sounds from all across the spectrum. To top it all off, this experience marks WAVS’ one year anniversary of sharing awesome music and times with you at The Wayfarer.

HKEK and Torosbros will be keeping the early night festivities eclectic as well. Come and celebrate our first year!
