Take 2 Entertainment begins its 2015 round of flagship Concert Cruise Boatylicious on Saturday, 5|2. Just as with all the others, this first installment provides us with an eclectic mix of seaworthy sounds. The double decker port party will be headlined by the summery disco-house of Gigamesh, the silky-smooth beats of Pomo, and that Long Beach Harbor sunset.

Paradise Unlimited‘s pineapple king Colour Vision, GDD‘s Troy Kurtz, GRYN, VenessaMichaels, and the homies Best Ghost, Templeton, and Mister Blaqk will be leading out what promises to be quite the cruise. Show up early cause embarkation isn’t waiting (bring a raft if you’re worried) and get them sea legs ready for some good ol’ boogie.

If you can’t make it out to sea, consider the landlocked Official Boatylicious Pre-Party on Friday, May 1st at V Lounge in Santa Monica, CA with Jai Wolf, Lonely Boy, Sleepy Cat, The Interns, and Lee K.

Our favourite month is upon us! April marks the beginning of festival season and our partnership with MDA is setting it off right with our first ever triple header. The fun begins Thursday (4|2) with Switzerland’s sweet and soothing seamstress of disco-deep sound, Nora En Pure, as she stops by for her #PURIFIED US tour. Friday (4|3) night we’ll be getting a bit more experimental thanks to labyrinth house king Daedelus and his well-crafted adventures into the maze of music. Finally, we close out the weekend (4|4) with the electro-disco-pop leanings of Mystery Skulls. Support from local regulars Bijoux, Free the Robots, and Glorious Wondour, respectively, will only add to the fun.

If you guys hadn’t already noticed, the joint series with our buddies at Ouija Entertainment and L’Affaire Musicale kicked off a few weeks ago with Jessie Andrews and Human Life. It was fun. Second up on the list is Thursday (3|12) and it’s promising to be a feel good affair. The always dancefloor friendly Le Youth and Solidisco will be manning the waves. Support from Kedd Cook, Templeton, and Kid B will commence the night.

Our buddies at L’Affaire Musicale have been busy since their last show. They’ve since partnered up with Beautiful Buzzz in SF for a little west coast lovin’. And there’s nothing we love more than funk-fused disco house. With that in mind, the gang lined up Solidisco, Ghost Beach, and Rogue Vogue to spur some good spirits.

Solidisco’s Duck Sauce-y Ready Look Choose Free-P tells us that the bounce house throne is in their sights. Ghost Beach has been on the tropical-pop tour circuit since BLONDE; it’ll be cool to hear what’s been influencing their future. Chicago House always helps set the mood. Rogue Vogue‘s twist on it just adds to the flavour.

Back in 2008, Mac Stanton started So French Records. Just last year, he (rightfully) earned heaps of Internet attention with his smash remix of “Lose Yourself to Dance.” Since then, he’s engineered incredible remixes of Danger, Kavinsky, Soul Machine, and the like. We here at C+A+D revel in french disco, therefore it was only natural for us to reach out. He blessed us with an exclusive mixtape. 11 tracks, 50 minutes of Mac Stanton’s unmistakable “ow ow ow.”

As you all know, Shook’s disco funk holds a special place in our hearts. Since the release of his dance floor friendly self-titled, he’d been relatively quiet. That is until chilled out baby-maker ‘Violet Hues’ was pushed out in late June. Follow up: ‘New Horizons’ came out today and it breaches a similarly relaxing spectrum. The funk guitar sets the mood so well.

To the keen eye, Shook’s cover photo has left white space that hints at a 3rd in this series. Judging from what is filled in, we can expect the new track to continue with this morning-friendly, mellowed out style we’re hearing. We can’t wait.

UK newcomer Faces. dropped 2 remixes in the past week and they are summer sun soulful. Not much is known about this producer yet, but if this is any indicator of what he’s capable of then we’re definitely gluing our ears to the digital ground.
