Got a bunch of tracks I wanna share with yall, across genres as we like to do over here. Strap in, these’ll take you on a moodcoaster.

(Hip Hop)

First up is Asher Roth‘s Ampersand, a laid back tune that Mr. Roth dropped to go with the rainy weather that’s currently taking over the East Coast. He does it dirty with his usual alliteration over a mellow beat. Always love the random track releases from Asher, look out for his album soon.

Asher Roth – Ampersand (prod. by Blended Babies)

(Electro)

Next is another Pretty Lights mashup, this time with Led Zeppelin. I really don’t see myself ever not enjoying a Pretty Lights song. Here he mixes his head bangin’ beats with a gritty electric guitar. Anyone know what Led Zeppelin song this is mixed with?

Pretty Lights vs. Led Zeppelin

(House/Electro)

Mau5trap spoiled us the last couple days, with the official release of Deadmau5’s “Where Are My Keys” and a new distorted, thumping electro banger from Feed Me. This track isn’t as glitchy as what we’ve heard from Feed Me before, more tolerant to the listener who can’t handle the usual grime. Very melodic and he’s still got the crispest hard electro sound I’ve heard from any artist.

Feed Me – Cott’s Face

(Hip Hop)

Epic released another track yesterday off his upcoming EP, Third Shift. This one features Jhene Aiko, and has more of an R&B vibe than his other stuff. I love focused songwriting and this definitely demonstrates that. The concept behind his mixtape is very interesting – more on that soon when the tape is released.

Epic – Love Changes (ft. Jhene Aiko)

(Hip Hop)

Finally, we have a new track from Mac Miller, who may be the most popular artist in hip-hop right now. This is a short 2 minute jam produced by Clams Casino, but it bangs. Definitely a heavier beat than Mac usually works with, but he goes in as he usually does. This one won’t be featured on Blue Slide Park.

Mac Miller – Cold Feet

Everybody knows the
Bloody Beetroots and their grimy Italian noises. Well, there are some new wops in town. Bizzo and Alvin are two Italian producers with an aptitude for distorted walls of grunge. They formed The S back in 09 but just recently dropped their Death & Rainbows EP. What do they sound like you ask? They sound like multiple death rays charging and firing in rapid succession, laying waste to anything and everything in their path. Be careful with this unruly banger.

With Outside Lands just a few days away, I’m doing my best to live vicariously through all you lucky fucks. The first step is making sure you don’t miss Paper Diamond. Paper Diamond is the side (or forward) project of Alex B, accomplished maker of rhythmic, finely crafted beats — although the term beats sells the sound far short. He dropped his first EP, “Levitate,” under his new moniker on Pretty Lights‘ Record Label earlier this year for free, in typical PLM fashion. The 9-song EP has the flexible type of sound that can be enjoyed by almost anyone in any given setting. Its impact can be as little as a slight head nod to as much as involuntary moving of every body part. His tunes have the Pretty Lights sound with a little less melody and a little more hip-hop influence. He dabbles in photography, graffiti, and graphic design as well, so his album art is visually appealing and I’m sure his show will be too. I guess you can say he’s a well-rounded artist of all trades. Check a video of his performance at the Snowball Music Festival for a peek and grab the Levitate EP below.

Remix Artist Collective lay their hands on another great track, improving it with their unique flair. Alex Winston‘s vocals are awesome and they make it a little more dance-able as usual, mixing in the sounds of a variety of instruments. This one’s extremely catchy. Check out the interview we got with them a couple months back.

Really stoked for this show. I’ve wanted to see more dedicated Electro/Dubstep shows, rather than massives of one or the other. Honestly I love both, and two personal favorites, The Others and Mustard Pimp are somewhere in the middle of the night. Promises to be a good night, if you’re in the Bay Area, do yourself a favor and go grab a ticket before they sell out.

Onto the music.

This track is a beast. ZHM holds it own as a creepy hard hitting electro track (and if you havn’t seen the music video banned from youtube, hide the kids and peep it here.) The Dadafied remix pumps it up by making good use of their sausage fattener plugin, and delivers a HUGE synth down your earholes. Big noise.
Mustard Pimp – ZHM (Dada Life Remix)

Hailing from the UK Joe Garston is our young’n of the week. At only 19 years old, hes already signed to Plasmapool and has charted in Beatport with this electro-house anthem. Although this sub-genre seems to repeat itself quite often, this track stays fresh with a crisp beat and solid production skills. Expect big things from him in the coming years, and follow his soundcloud.
Top of the World – Joe Garston Removed By Request

Next up is yet another remix of a song with Robyn, and I’ve heard this song played out to the extreme. Not much goes down in the first 1:30, sync up and get through those vocals, but holy god that’s an awesome drop. R3hab serves it up again.
Rye Rye feat. Robyn – Never Will Be Mine (R3hab Remix)

So more surprises from the man himself, Dillon Francis last week released a dubstep EP called ‘Ultra’. He went to work with his former mentor Cory Enemy and what resulted were three bass heavy monsters. Here’s the title track, give a listen, then go grab the full EP here for free.
Cory Enemy and Dillon Francis – Ultra

Finally, one of my favorite tracks of this summer got released yesterday, Bart B More dropped it at my favorite set at EDC, and since then I’ve been on the hunt for it. After a few delayed releases, it’s finally upon us. Go grab a copy at beatport, its the right thing to do.
Bart B More & Tommie Sunshine – Bodywork

As always, wear good headphones, and buy the music!
