Been seeing too many posts online about summer fading away and reaching its end. Temperatures in LA have been the hottest they’ve been all summer. It’s actually starting to take a toll on me! Shook definitely hasn’t let up on his summer production vibe. In fact, it couldn’t be more apparent on his newly release “Summerheat.” A total windows-down, driving-alongside-the-coast, wind-in-the-hair type of beat. SO glad I got work off today. You’ll catch me blasting this beach side.

I don’t want this concert recall being past due to take away from how special that night was. Let alone, how important it is for me to do my best to explain in detail what exactly went down. The last day of Outside Lands is almost underway! Can’t say I’m going to miss the cramped hotel room we stuffed in, but it’s always tough to leave SF. With that I bring you my 108th weekly playlist. I told my yoga-teacher-cousin how I’ve been doing this, and he explained to me the significance of the number 108. It’s a very sacred number in Hinduism and Budhism. It’s supposed to represent the ultimate reality of the universe simultaneously being one (1), nothing (0), and everything (8, infinite). Pretty cool! I love that kinda stuff. The most interesting thing I found out about it (and you can look this up): the distance from the Earth to the Sun divided by the Sun’s diameter is approximately 108. Same with the moon… He just stressed how great it was that I’ve stayed consisted for this long and how now these lists are now a part of me. I feel it! Enjoy #108:

For everyone there, whether working at the fest or simply being a guest, HARD Summer was something special. This was our fourth HARD Summer, and we were able to get a behind the scenes look at one of our most anticipated festivals of the year. Sorry I have been lagging on getting this up. Been in full recovery-mode after HARD Summer. Now preparation-mode for T.E.E.D. this Thursday and OSL this weekend. Things are getting crazy! But that’s how I like it. Better than being bored out of my mind with no plans in the near future. I feel like that goes without saying though. Enjoy #107:

HARD Summer being over has finally given me time to focus my energy on this Thursday, where Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs will be playing at the Echo in LA to a sold out crowd. With this guy’s slow but steady rise to his well deserved fame comes an EP for the song that made me fall in love: Household Goods. This was the only song of its kind on his new album, which definitely adds to it being a standout track. Zeds Dead took the liberty of slowing it down, but maintaining the beauty that lies within. Sit back. Light up. Relax. Enjoy.

Household Goods EP will be released August 20th with remixes from Zeds Dead, Zinc, Li’l Silva, Enei and Mano Le Tough.
