Their music evokes the careful chaos of Crystal Castles and the disoriented expressions of Alt-J‘s Thom Greene. ASDEK is a duo from Montpellier who’ve recently added more of a funk touch to their skill in punky electro. These two, borne of the French underground, are blending up something fantastic in today’s saturated sound. They’re prime examples of this whole post-genre movement. Our friends at HVOB shared with us a little Minimix for the release of their newest EP: Lion. The entire EP is dripping with the mellow goodness that is Anna and Paul – we expected nothing less of the hardworking duo. The two new originals are hypnotic house tracks whereas the remixes by Wolfram and Stimming are equally enigmatic in a club-oriented way.
We’re also excited to say that we’ll finally get to catch them at SXSW 2014. See ya there!

At once sounding like Architecture in Helsinki with their pitchy vocals and chambered symphonics to dreamy dance-pop reminiscent of Hot Chip, Marseilles’ pop-trio HUSBANDS have burst on the scene with a musical range that makes them a choice option when you can’t figure out what to listen to (it’s a good thing). They’ve got 5 tracks out right now, and they’re all worth a listen. I can’t get enough.
