The Yost theater is well on their way of being the top contender in Orange County’s battle for best EDM venue. It all took a turn after LED Events saw the potential of the rising scene in the area and invested in the Yost with a crazy lineup of shows. The first event we couldn’t miss, and debatably one of their biggest: Kill the Noise. Read on after the jump:

The venue was equipped with two lines that rapped almost completely around the building on either end. The abundant turnout wholly showed that Orange County’s EDM fanbase is not to be ignored! The crowd was antsy to get their fix of bass, and the openers falling into some technical difficulty rose the tension early. I had to force my way into the center of the crowd when KTN finally took the stage, and it was hardly a breathable atmosphere. The place was tightly packed from all angles, and I surrounded myself with some kids I knew wanted to get the place going. “KILL-THE-NOISE!” “KILL-THE-NOISE!” “KILL-THE-NOISE!” The deafening shrieks of the crowd had everyone amped for what was to come..As soon as he dropped into his remix of Nero’s “Must Be the Feeling,” the crowd lost their shit and the party officially began.

Track after track, banger after banger. He literally answered all my prayers of the tracks I desperately wanted to hear live…Tackling all the essentials off his EP. One of the more epic parts was when he had the whole house chanting “TALK TO ME” as the titled track set off into oblivion. And I think most people were surprised that he dropped Brown & Gammon’s remix of “Dying,” which is definitely best version to play live. It just struck all the right chords and matched the energy in the room perfectly. He even showed praise of Flux Pavilion’s classic remix of “Gold Dust” that had everyone singing in unison, and ended with “Dill the Noise,” his collaboration with Dillon Francis…Such a melodically beautiful, let alone bouncy tune.

Overall the show was everything you could want from a KTN set. High energy. Togetherness within the crowd. Bass. Hot chicks (that seemed to be lost in the pit). While I’m on the topic: “the pit” didn’t get it’s name for being a peaceful place to grind up on some bro or dance with ~your gurliez~. It’s a place for people to jump around and fully embrace the music and opportunity of seeing a heavy hitting artist like KTN. They thrive off that energy, and the devout fans want to give it to them! Keep that in mind next time you’re crying about how people keep bumping into you. And this isn’t an invitiation for bros to violently mosh into people. It’s a dance circle. Love each other and let loose! Not like this music gives you any other choice.
