I’m really happy I started this series, because sometimes I get so much new music so quick (i.e. All this stuff that I got yesterday), and it would be too much to individually post it all. Every track here is equally essential and have had me in a mood boost for the past 24 hours. I mean, look at the headline! That lineup of names isn’t a joke. Check what I mean after the jump:

If you are looking to drown under a wave of indie beach-rock goodness, look no further: DIIV’s recent LP ‘Oshin’ is your answer. It’s the same sort of glimmering daze to get lost in as the likes of Beach Fossils and Real Estate. It is sun-drenched and ethereal as anything of or pertaining to dream pop but it really is instantly addicting. Amongst its tipsy clatter and distilled guitars, it is rooted in something very solid. These Brooklyn-based dudes really have natural talent. Everything comes together to form a glassy album that seamlessly glides from one track to the next; you’re never left to wonder about the musicians themselves–the attention is purely on the music. This is a gloriously restorative album for the brain.

I’m pretty sure it was a less than a year ago where Boys Noize tweeted something along the lines of “Watching Black Lips live. Finally see some normal people.” And just last week we saw Kill the Noise wearing a WAVVES shirt during his set. Now this…Sweet Valley, which happens to be the side project of Wavves front man Nathan Williams and his brother Kynan, is set to release an instrumental beat tape for A-Trak’s Fools Gold Records! Though Boys Noize’s comment comes off a bit snarky (I kinda know what he means), it’s cool to see the garage rock and fuzz punk steez transcend over to a predominately electronic scene. This mixtape titled Stay Calm has summer all over it and is set to release on August 7. Check the tracklist and single for free download after the jump:

My friend got to study abroad in Europe over fall, and like me, he was obsessed with the idea of immersing himself in a culture he was unfamiliar with. That’s why I was surprised when he said his favorite place that he visited was the UK. Apparently there is something there that is intertwined with the music scene that made it such a desirable location to settle in…and probably because they spoke English and it was just easier.

Regardless, it’s undeniable that the UK has a knack for birthing some of the more cutting edge music to travel through the interweb. And here we have Disclosure. Two brothers taking UK garage music and adding their own futuristic, even dream-like take on the sound. Each track is filled with soulful vocals that are too easy to get lost in. When I got their debut Free-P (Download Here), they didn’t really hit home with me. It wasn’t until the release of their latest The Face – EP ’til it all made sense. That being said, start with The Face first. Sit back. Chill out. Let Disclosure take over your mind, body and soul after the jump::
