Calvin Harris better watch out, because this cold-blooded DJ/Producer/Singer is giving him a run for his money. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is the solo project of yet another relevant DJ from the UK. There’s not much info to be found on the guy, but he’s quickly establishing his sound around the world with bangers like ‘Household Goods’ and just plain ol’ quality house tracks like ‘Garden.’ He’s got a style that encompasses laser-like synths and the voice of a love lost youth. His bass seems to cut through the track as he twists through tribal house rhythms that refuse to keep me still. I missed him at HARD 13 for some reason, and there’s no way in hell I’m letting that happen again. His dj sets are filled with the use of various instruments and even dancing dinosaurs. Plus deep house sets are a treat in themselves, so it’s a win win.

He’s got several EPs out that you can pick up on BeatPort. His first All in One Sixty Dancehalls has gotten him support from BeardyMan and BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac. It preceeds All in Two Sixty Dancehalls which features ‘Garden’ (video below), and could be the final push he needed to get some more deserved recognition. TEED’s latest single ‘Trouble,’ just proves his consistency as a producer. Keep an eye out for this kid.

Treasure Fingers

I get really excited every time someone that’s really prevalent in the game throws out another track. I’m talkin’ Duck Sauce, Skrillex, Jack Beats, Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP, The Twelves. All the guys that never disappoint and don’t tire of staying active. Treasure Fingers dropped this one on us last weekend, and I could have sworn I put it in the YOLO List, but I guess I just got ahead of myself. Needless to say, I didn’t want to wait until next week to put this out. The less time you’re bumping this track, the less fulfilling your life’s ultimately gonna be. It didn’t hit me at first, and it sounds different than what we’re used to getting from Mr. Fingers, but it still has that classic/revamped, house vibe. A little more attitude this time, though.

Treasure Fingers

Señor Stereo – I Am The Beat (Treasure Fingers Remix)
Treasure Fingers – It’s Love (Original Mix)
Fred Falke, Burns – Y.S.L.M. (You Stopped Loving Me) (Treasure Fingers Remix)

Had to get a quick post out before my midterm. This week’s been stressful as fuck, but this isn’t a place for complaining. This is a place to get raped. Yes. Raped by the massive wave of good music that I’ve been stumbling on lately. This song “Feelings for You” in particular…the original and respective remixes. A vocal sample that trumps all that I’ve ever heard in any house song (except for the Moonchild remix of “Physical”). I love the vocal samples in house songs. Always uplifting. Always trying to share the pain, telling you you’re not alone. This song will have you singing with it at the top of your lungs. No homo, but seriously. This song is sure to be a house anthem for decades to come.

This throws me off though…Avicii and Sebastien Drums took this song and undoubtedly beefed it up to have a more big room, housy feel and titled it as (Original Mix) like it’s their song. Cassius created this groundbreaking original, and I don’t want anyone to think otherwise. These pioneers of house music shouldn’t have been left out of the title, but what do I know. Regardless, I’ll tell you what I know: this song jams…and this video is tight as hell:

Cassius – Feelings For You (160 kbps) :'(
Avicii & Sebastien Drums – My Feelings For You (UNoriginal Mix)

I’m sure if we’ve been at the same party recently, I would have found my way to the music source and played a track or two, or maybe even three, from these guys. Duck Sauce is comprised of A-Trak, Kanye’s former DJ and house superstar Armand Van Helden. You may recognize A-Trak’s name from his remix of “Heads Will Roll” that was slamming all DJ sets hard in the past year. And likewise Armand’s name from his colab with Dizzee Rascal on the hit single “Bonkers.” You know ’em. You love ’em.

So Duck Sauce is coming up really fast, and I thought I’d help them out with this post. They need and deserve the recognition. It’s a housy mix of electronic and disco that doesn’t fail to get people dancing. I feel as though whether you like electronic music or not, it’s really easy to get down with these guys. Most people that I’ve showed them to from totally different musical background seem to really enjoy it. I got all of their songs that i could find, plus one of my favorite remixes out there. The weird part is, I’ve only seen remixes of Barbra Streissand and have yet to hear the original. Anyhow, enjoy the Duck Sauce list!
