Noisia, stylized as NOISIΛ (‘VISION’ rotated 180°), released their debut album ‘Split the Atom’ in 2010, and it set the tone for a lot of the grimy bangers producers are still trying to emulate. Well today, they’re rereleasing it on mau5trap records as a special edition that includes their two new singles ‘Tommy’s Theme’ and ‘Could This Be’ with a series of insane remixes.

I suggest you scroll down to the Kill the Noise remix RIGHT NOW! That shit is absolute fire. Starts off super thuggish and drops into the sickest drum’n’bass beat. I’m pissed that I have to sit down at work and listen to it quietly. Shit goes so hard.

Yes the rumors are substantiated, you’ve been wondering for weeks and well, it’s true, I’m back to C+A+D! Glad to be back after playing a few cool shows and booking some of my favorite artists here in Santa Cruz, but truth be told I love sharing my music too much, and glad to be back at it. Without further ado……..here’s the music.

If you’re not caught up with this guy or his bromantical angry-techno counterpart Gesaffelstein, get out from that rock homie. These guys owned Hard Cruise together, and their stateside tour stop in S.F. was one of the best sets I’ve seen. Ever.
Gesaffelstein – Viol (Brodinski Remix)

Can’t stop playing this noise maker from Italian up and comer Supabeatz. I get asked what this track is after I play it out more than any other, keep up with him and his pal Keith, they often team up with absolute bangers to offer.
The 2 Bears – Work (Supabeatz Remix)

This E.P. was the second release from Lucky Beard Records, started by Phra of Crookers. Honestly slept on this remix, but this is just the jam right now.
Donovans & Maelstrom – I Need (Cookie Snap Remix)

Lastly this comes from the latest offering of the always eclectic Mumbai Science. This is their second EP in their ‘Unified Theory’ trilogy, with the third EP set to come out in early March. Keeps your ears open for that, and grab this sweet, dancy groove in the mean time.
Mumbai Science – Reality

Got some cool stuff lined up for the next few weeks guys. As always, buy the music and wear good headphones!

I don’t care how big or mainstream someone gets, as long as they’re still making the music that made me like them in the first place. “We Found Love,” for example, does not embody the Calvin Harris I love. Anyone who’s followed Deadmau5 or A-Trak from the beginning knows these guys got where they are off of just doing them and being really damn good at it.

Take two of Deadmau5’s new tracks: Maths and Get In The Cart, Pig. Both showcasing the best of his polar opposite sides, hard electro and progressive. Kinda like The Reward Is Cheese or Strobe. And A-Trak’s new songs show a bit of his hip hop background and his keen ability to make banging indie dance tracks from remixes. Reminds me of Ray Ban Vision or his Heads Will Roll remix. I stand by these two!

Deadmau5 – Maths (Original Mix)
Foo Fighters – Rope (Deadmau5 Remix)

A-Trak|
A-Trak – Where My Money At (Ft. Kanye, Jay-Z)
A-Trak – Round of Applause (Ft. Waka, Drake, Jacques Lu Cont)

I wish I was still into video games, or that I at least had time to play them because their soundtracks are becoming more keen to the harder shit. If you don’t know already, EA Sports’ Syndicate is an action game set in 2069, and it’s looking to be a promising experience for everyone who’s into that stuff. The main track is getting some relatively high key remixes from Skrillex, Digitalism, Flux Pavillion and now NERO…so far. Nero’s version sets up an orchestral take that they’re SO good at weaving in with borderline lethal levels of bass. The song is set to download for free on their SoundCloud, so I linked it below. Easy enough. Cool shit I found out today though, Dillon Francis will be supporting the American leg of their world tour! So fresh. So clean.

Skrillex may be making serious grounds on his own, given his recent Grammy succes (kudos bro), but his label OWSLA is doing work as well! With the likes of Zedd, Porter Robinson, Kill the Noise, The M Machine and more, we get a pretty promising intro to Melbourne’s Nick Thayer. I wasn’t familiar with him ’til this EP, and I can confidently say there’s no better place for him than OWSLA. The EP ranges from 110 to 140 BPM, so it’s cool to get a taste of his range as a producer. His bouncy wubs and twisted cuts have a little bit of all his aforementioned label mates. The sound isn’t particularly “new,” but for what it’s worth, I can get down. Our favorites at the moment are Top of the World and Facepalm.

Support him on his FaceBook, and if you like his EP after streaming it, buy it on BeatPort…or go to his shows. This won’t be the last time we hear from him I’m sure.

Mau5trap’s shining star Jon Gooch (the 17 year old me has been withholding immature jokes on the inside) aka Feed Me just released his third official project, the Escape from Electric Mountain EP. The two tracks that leaked in the past week helped build an already high level of excitement, like receiving dirty texts the night before reuniting with a long distance girlfriend. The little guy shows off some range with the six songs, proving that it’s tough to confine artists to any one genre anymore.

“Trapdoor” combines some alt-rock vocals courtesy of Hadouken with a dubstep drop. “One Click Headshot” packs as much energy and bass as you can fit into 4:47 with the moombah/jump-up epidemic that Skrillex & Knife Party have spread. (That sample comes from here). “Whiskers,” a track co-produced with Gemini is a full fledged banger. “Relocation” threw me off guard in the best way possible — a progressive, softer electronic song with pleasant melodies and a thick distorted bassline. I sense some mau5 influence. And if you’ve dug his previous incorporation of powerful vocals, he brings along a mysterious and talented ‘Lindsay’ on “Embers,” a more traditional electro house track. His precision in production is apparent – every effect (and there’s a lot) is so crisp and the bass never fails to hits home.

Grab the EP on Beatport and if you don’t have the $15 hit me on Twitter and I’ll try to point you in the right direction. This bad boy’s my favorite release thus far in 2012. If I ever make it to electric mountain, I’m never leavin’.

I hate being teased. Especially when I won’t see the fruits of the teasing for an extended period of time. TEED’s new single isn’t going to come out for two months. Which, in music time, is forever…What the hell! ‘Tapes & Money’ isn’t supposed to come out until April, and the album will follow in May. This track is yet another masterpiece from our prehistoric friend. He’s so good at being super ravy and distorted while still maintaining a feel-good sound overall. Definitely one of the most consistent producers right now.

Speaking of consistent producers, Dillon Francis is doing some teasing of his own. His is a little bit more short-ended, as his EP ‘Something, Something, Awesome’ is out in 10 days. I heard him drop all of these songs the last couple times I saw him. Shit goes hard. Majority Nu Jump Up, as he dubs it, and just the spiciest moombahton track at the end. He guarantees you getting laid if you buy it and it conveniently comes out on Valentine’s Day. GO:
