LA’s premier music festival laid another milestone last weekend that’s not to be forgotten anytime soon. For everyone there, whether working at the fest or simply being a guest, HARD Summer was something special. This was our fourth HARD Summer, and we were able to get a behind the scenes look at one of our most anticipated festivals of the year. It’s always so tough narrowing these down to a “Best Of” list, but the festival would not have been the same without the contributions of the following artists. Check them out after the jump:

HARD Summer being over has finally given me time to focus my energy on this Thursday, where Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs will be playing at the Echo in LA to a sold out crowd. With this guy’s slow but steady rise to his well deserved fame comes an EP for the song that made me fall in love: Household Goods. This was the only song of its kind on his new album, which definitely adds to it being a standout track. Zeds Dead took the liberty of slowing it down, but maintaining the beauty that lies within. Sit back. Light up. Relax. Enjoy.

Household Goods EP will be released August 20th with remixes from Zeds Dead, Zinc, Li’l Silva, Enei and Mano Le Tough.

I’m really happy I started this series, because sometimes I get so much new music so quick (i.e. All this stuff that I got yesterday), and it would be too much to individually post it all. Every track here is equally essential and have had me in a mood boost for the past 24 hours. I mean, look at the headline! That lineup of names isn’t a joke. Check what I mean after the jump:

Gosteffects FaceBook | Kick the Bass EP | SoundCloud

Our buddy John, better known by his ghastly ghoul of a moniker Gosteffects has been hard at work topping Beatport charts and getting support from DJs like Fatboy Slim, Laidback Luke and more. After his Kick the Bass EP blew out the speakers of thousands, he decided to release a series of the hardest hitting remixes in two volumes.

In Volume 1, .357 Magnum is locked and loaded with banging moombahton remix of Kick the Bass. Takes me back to that Delta Heavy Remix of Must be the feeling. With the recent release of Volume 2, John is gifting us with another free remix by Black Matter. For those of you who can never quench their electro thirst, pick that shit up! Head over to his soundcloud for more tracks to support.

You can download the track below by either going to the track’s page on his soundcloud or by clicking here.

It’s going to be tough to put into words how refreshing it was to be at Dim Mak Tuesdays this past week. But we’re here for you guys’ and I’d be damned if we didn’t try! Here goes…

I’m pretty sure it was a less than a year ago where Boys Noize tweeted something along the lines of “Watching Black Lips live. Finally see some normal people.” And just last week we saw Kill the Noise wearing a WAVVES shirt during his set. Now this…Sweet Valley, which happens to be the side project of Wavves front man Nathan Williams and his brother Kynan, is set to release an instrumental beat tape for A-Trak’s Fools Gold Records! Though Boys Noize’s comment comes off a bit snarky (I kinda know what he means), it’s cool to see the garage rock and fuzz punk steez transcend over to a predominately electronic scene. This mixtape titled Stay Calm has summer all over it and is set to release on August 7. Check the tracklist and single for free download after the jump:

The Yost theater is well on their way of being the top contender in Orange County’s battle for best EDM venue. It all took a turn after LED Events saw the potential of the rising scene in the area and invested in the Yost with a crazy lineup of shows. The first event we couldn’t miss, and debatably one of their biggest: Kill the Noise. Read on after the jump:
