With extensive beat looping and bubbly-bit sample cuts that would make Charlie Yin proud, Kataraxxia has stumbled onto something that is highly influenced yet all her own. Her newest remix of Kidnap Kid’s Animaux is all kinds of 90’s video game funky fun. Here’s to hoping there’s more where this came from.

Lightning in a Bottle • Tickets
We’re one day close to our home that is The Do Lab’s Lightning in a Bottle festival. Last year, we experienced something positively life-changing. And we wanted more. The lineup announcement for 2015 is definitely promising that. On top of this star-studded lineup that is still staying true to LIB’s bassy roots, they’re making improvements upon the logistics. That means less overheated trudging and more temperate dancing. We can live with that.
The festival will be returning to the lovely San Antonio Recreation Area in Bradley, CA. Hopefully there will be some water to swim in this time around. Regardless, we can hardly contain our excitement. Tickets are still available. Though with a lineup this spectacular, there’s no guarantee for how much longer. Buy your tickets and come see what all the fuss is about!

Wax Motif is Australia’s answer to the G-House movement. Being from the land down under, Wax Motif’s unique style maintains the electro bounciness found in much of that ‘Strayan sound. Mix that in with G-House’s framework and you’ve got downright dark and dance-y vibes. We’re bringing him to our WAVS series this Friday (2|6) with support from our brother Bones. See you there, G’s!

Fast on the heels of a record year, the Desert Hearts crew is showing no signs of slowing down. 2015 will be a year of tremendous growth for the fun-loving collective and we’re excited to see it unfold for them. Their next installment comes by way of their City Hearts series. It is being hosted at Beyond the Stars Palace in Glendale, CA on February 14th – a most fitting venue name, we might add. If you’ve ever been to a Desert Hearts party then you already know. Love abounds. If you’ve not, it’s never too late to join the family.
Ten hours of tunes will be provided by the DH team who have Mastered in Party Flow Mechanics (its a real thing, swears). There will also be live art and entertainment. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine’s than with House, Techno, & Love. See you out there, lovers.

The Athletixx collective has been on the come up since they united in July. Crewed by Hoodboi, Falcons, Kittens, and Promnite, the collective has been gaining much respect for refreshing LA’s club scene. This Friday (1|30), we’ll have two out of four getting at it for our WAVS series. Support will be coming in from FVSF and B.I.B.L.E.
Athletixx’s All-Stars Mixtape featured tons of previously unreleased works. Expect to hear some new heat come Friday. Seeing this label live is low-key (but actually very high-key) something we’ve been looking forward to. Come get down with us!

Lxury is definitely one of the more bold producers in the game right now. His sound is a cross between UK garage, house, and who knows what else. Honestly, we don’t really care because, when it comes down to it, it most certainly spurs movement.
