It didn’t hit me until about halfway through this Nero mix to realize that it was a live recording from their set at Hackney Weekend. Needless to say, I had to restart it from the beginning to be able to fully appreciate what it would be like to see a set of this caliber live. From the “Doomsday” intro, to the Knife Party VIP remixes, and the Gesaffelstein/Daft Punk mashup, this set is just about everything holy in the world of live dubstep shows. Nero prove once again why they are gods. Oh…Andy C is also in the second hour of the mix, but the hype man pretty much ruins it.

Jack Beats have a lot of surprises and treats headed our away in the near future. They’ve delivered on the live set they promised, the free singles in their Dubs For Clubs Series. And now for the album…In preparation, they have released a mixtape showcasing the future of the wubs, wobs and hard-hitting basslines of Jack Beats. Here’s what they had to say:
“Here is ‘Evolution’- a mixtape which we’ve made as a preview to our forthcoming release: ‘Careless’- the first of 2 mini albums we’re dropping over the next few months. We feel this shorter album format works better with our style of music, and that’s why we’ve decided to essentially split our album project into 2 releases, as opposed to 1. ‘Careless’ features new tracks and collabs with Diplo, Dillon Francis, Example & Takura, and drops on OWSLA Aug 7th, and then as a full worldwide release Sept 10th through Columbia. Hope you guys enjoy it, it’s taken a while:).”
