So, I’ve been on a high all week from Nero‘s show in San Diego, and yet I’ve been fiending another concert more than usual. It’s probably because my lack of funds are catching up to me, and there are so many shows I want to go to. Time to be more selective. The grass is still greener here! There are a bunch of great events coming up, and Coachella is the closest it’s ever been. Had to turn down seeing my buddy’s in DJ Slander spin alongside Avicii at Radius Fest in San Diego on Friday. I’m happy to have at least been able to pass on the opportunity to Chronic Mncher. Turns out it was a hell of a show, and I’m not surprised.

Theme of this week’s YOLO list is know your rights! I’m tired of people getting taken advantage of by the cops. (I know this is random, but it’s relevant to life so go with it.) I got pulled over the other week because the cop said he thought I wasn’t going to stop at a red light I stopped at…If you know what’s good for you, you’ll watch this long video with horrible actors (some of which who wear puka shells) to edumucate yourself on what you can do when a cop is trying to get tricky. The advice from the video works. Fuck tha police and enjoy the choonz.

Sorry about the lack of posts everyone. Life has been in full force recently. To make matters worse, woke up Thursday morning to slap my snooze button only to hear a splash and find my laptop chillin in a mysterious puddle of water. Don’t know how or why or where that water came from, but it’s in the past. Good news is I had most of my music backed up on a hard drive, so the random assortment of tracks for the YOLO lists will persist. I want to be upset, but I know it’s life just balancing out for how amazing this weekend is gonna end. I am 21 today and am seeing Nero tonight at SOLD OUT Voyeur in San Diego. Pumped as fuck. That being said, may have some big news this week on potentially getting a line of events together in OC. I don’t want to get too excited yet, but I will keep you guys posted. Oh.. Happy Sunday everyone, back with another list for you guys. I gotta dedicate this to our friend and creative mind behind 12fv. He’s put together a show with some other local talent that’s going to be at the Lab in Costa Mesa. They’ve been working hard to bring out their best works that you can admire and purchase. 12fv will be helping us get our new look, so make the world go round and shoot ’em some support.

That being said, I went to the mediocre at best Major Rager show in LA last night and was pretty disappointed. The venue was supposed to be at an airfield, but we got rained into some banquet hall type of deal that kinda ruined it. We reached sauna temperatures, the speakers couldn’t handle the volume and Diplo‘s equipment overheated, so he proceeded to beatbox. I was entertained, but it’s not what I wanted out of the show. I shoulda just saved myself for the My Life Every Day show with Calvin Harris, Etienne de Crecy, Burns and friends. Next time I’m back here I’ll be able to legally drink and drive! (under a .08, though.) I’ll be celebrating in San Diego with Nero. GO!

Oh well, the Coachella countdown continues…

Although I’m sorry to have had to push the YOLO list to today, I’m pretty glad I did. Last night marked a milestone for indie music. If you haven’t heard already, Arcade Fire took the award for Album of the Year at the 53rd Annual Grammy’s beating Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Lady Antebellum! It took awhile for the magnitude of this to hit me, but the top40s music world just took sharp turn towards open mindedness. I only wish they chose more approachable songs to play to that crowd (i.e. The Suburbs). I’m excited to see where music goes in the coming years and even moreso to see Arcade Fire perform a headlining set at Coachella! If you want to see my post on them with my favorite songs, go here. San Francisco for the second time in a month and the weather is actually better than socal. Just woke up after an epic ass night at the Mezzanine for The Twelves. There’s so much to say…sold out. Packed. Perfect set. Beautiful women. Bangers. I gotta keep this short though, because the team and I still have to explore the city before the Superbowl (Green’n’Yellow). I did come through with an interview this time thanks to no international cellphone numbers. Let me just say, they’re just as bad ass as you think they’d be. I’ll have that up within the next couple days. Enjoy the list!

So much huge shit is going down this month…I woke up this morning thinking I was still dreaming when it all hit me. Dada Life Thursday, The Twelves Saturday (+exclusive interview), Porter Robinson/Bart B More next Friday, and Nero on my 21st birthday. February could very well be one for the books, and I almost can’t believe it! If only we could move Valentine’s day to another month. Stupid commercial holidays, oi. Specifics on tickets and info is on the upcoming events page.

I added a link to my Last.fm if you’re ever curious as to what exactly I am listening to or have been listening to. For everyone who is serious about regularly finding new music specific to your taste, I highly recommend getting a Last.fm account. This isn’t the first time I’ve brought it up and definitely won’t be the last. When you register, it goes through your itunes and sees what you’ve listened to and how much you listened to it. It then recommends artists to you based on other people who listen to the same stuff you listen to. Life changing shit. My music life has never been the same! Give it a shot.

COACHELLA PEOPLE! My heart goes out to you guys who didn’t get tickets, but it’s definitely not all over. The reason Coachella sold out so quick in the first place is, because secondhand ticket salesmen stocked the fuck up. As the event gets closer and all those guys trying to sell their tickets, the prices will drop. Do NOT buy any tickets from Craigslist or anything just yet, because they don’t even come out ’til a few weeks before the event. I ended up buying a ticket from Craigslist for face value after it sold out last year from a kind soul who couldn’t go. If you want it bad enough, it will happen. Good luck!

NorCal Treat

It’s concerts like last night’s that make considering the 8 hour solo drive to San Francisco an option. Fortunately for me, Nero‘s management was nice enough to give me two photo passes to sold out Wobbleland, and a little luck with finding decently priced tickets on craigslist set me up with a solid team for an epic show. I’ll be loading up some HQ vids and pictures I got from the event to our facebook page within the next couple days. I was working on getting an interview with Nero, but I wasn’t able to get through to the international number their management gave me. I have faith for the future, though. Maybe before their San Diego show on my birthday in February…that’ll do it.

So if you haven’t heard, Coachella car and camp spots are all sold out. I can’t remember the last time that went down, but I got my hotel room booked and ready to go, and now it’s just a waiting game. Watch out for my playlists for the event! I’ll put down the best of the best, split up by day, to make you aware of the serious talent thats going to be at the Polo Fields, and there’s a lot.
