The legends The Juan MacLean and Pat Mahoney (of LCD Soundsystem and Museum of Love) are coming in to DJ us into a nudisco stupor. Coming off a house-disco blended late 2014 release, The Juan MacLean is sure to keep the party dancing clean. We’re thinking some early 2000’s throwbacks are in store for us too. Locals Meridian West will be leading off the night. Come through early!

Up until now, the WAVS series has been performed totally behind the decks. But because we love keeping you on your toes we’re bringing in Doldrums and Moon King to perform some LIVE music for this weekend’s WAVS show. The former recently released an energetic second LP in April. The latter debuted an indie synth-ed set earlier in April as well.

Where both acts stand out is in their emotional approach to their music. To top it off, they’ll have live vocals (we love live vocals). Come join the experience.

Moony Habits is a new crew setting up shop in the LA scene. While they’ve a basis in beats, the Moony crew has already set plans to offer so much more in the realm of spacey and romantic. Their very first show features the genre hopping FaltyDL and experimental beat makers Mono/Poly and Mike Gao. The venue: the very intimate Complex in Glendale.

FaltyDL just dropped a diamond new record. Mono/Poly had a killer release on Brainfeeder last year. And Mike Gao has had quite the career that he started out of famed Low End Theory. It’s going to be a wild first show and we’re betting future parties will be just as far out.

If you guys haven’t noticed, WAVS has now taken over every Friday at the Wayfarer. We think it has something to do with how fun – and musically different – each of of the shows are. Last week we had party-step vibes thanks to ATCR. This week we’re getting deep and groovy with NYC duo Walker & Royce.

For the past three years, their unique style has been featured in mixes from high profile DJs the world over. It will be fun to finally hear it from the creators while playing pool and sharing spirits. Lead in for the night comes from Bijoux and Torosbros. Come through.
