Woah! Just hit me that it’s been 70 straight weeks since I started doing these guys. Also realized that I have to take a moment to reflect on how long I’ve been doing these every ten lists. But fuck it! Maybe at some point it’ll be at every hundred lists….I don’t see an ending in the foreseeable future, but then again, it’s hard to see the future so I’m playing it by ear. I focused on a few releases this past week that I’m really happy to share! Some off compilations, some off just looking around, some for free, some not, two different artists called Oliver, all really good stuff. I always think they’re good though. Enjoy #70!

My preteen world collides with the pre-restofmylife world yet again! If you weren’t aware, Death Cab for Cutie has been unveiling a new remix every other week leading up to the release of their Codes and Keys album on November 22. Here’s an update on the outstanding ones that have been dropped since Cut Copy started the line.

Thanks to Dillon Francis for dropping this bomb on us today. Kinda makes me LOL thinking about the Death Cab fans who stumble on this remix, because it’s nowhere near as mellow as the others. Classic Dillon “Nu Jump Up” as he dubs it, with weebs and wubs sure to satisfy all his fans. Despite the amount of his remixes, this one manages to stay relatively unique. I’ve just begun to accept his ability to do this…as there’s no explanation how someone can be so consistently awesome. I’m not hatin’ though.

I can’t say I’m surprised Death Cab reached out to our favorite indie remixers RAC, so I won’t. These guys have that Midas touch when it comes to feel good indie choons. This one is no different. A light hearted dancy beat matched seamlessly with Gibbard’s voice has me itching to add this to my library. Another huge remix on RAC’s résumé. I really love this talented bunch. Kudos boys!

In honor of this being #69 and me being horribly immature, this week’s list consists of some prime get-down-and-dirty beats. Sexy house tracks and hard hitting electro bangers. I’m stoked that the C+A+D HQ has caught the disco bug, because I’ve never been able to give the genre a rest. There’s a timeless catchiness about its vibes that’s spawned so many new types of music, stemmed from the disco fever phase. Download the zip file, toss ’em in a playlist, light up the candles and let your love making reach a whole ‘nother level. It’s on me!

YES! C+A+D favorite Treasure Fingers is back with a video for his upcoming single “Rooftop Rival.” Classic Treasure Fingers beat. Funky basslines, uplifting synths, and cut up vocal samples all add up to the usual dancy goodness that we’re used to getting from Brooklyn’s disco king. Plus the idea of going to a rooftop, sunset show with a view of the NY skyline AND Treasure Fingers on the decks made me go from six to midnight. I want more rooftop parties, yo!

The dual edged producers we’re growing to love more and more each day have released another track off their forthcoming free-P. This one has that usual grime, but this time it’s coupled with some intergalactic synths that are reminiscent of the masta Mord Fustang. Very epic tune! Fits right in with Knife Party‘s former releases. If you scoped our last post on these fools, you’d know their EP titled 100% No Modern Talking is set to release soon with 4 tracks: ‘Internet Friends’, ‘Tourniquet’, ‘Fire Hive’, and ‘Back To The Z-List’. The anticipation is literally shriveling my small intestine. That’s normal, right?

Happy Sunday friends and fam! I bundled up ten solid tracks this week that I’m pretty excited about. The Black Keys track is a kickin single off their upcoming album, NEW OIZO, Florence and the Machine album came out of nowhere…but I got it! And it’s just as epic as you’d expect. Together those words don’t make much sense, but it’s Deadmau5, so fuck it. Right? The guy is on one of the biggest single DJ tours in the history of the scene, selling out back to back to back consecutive shows with one of the highest production live sets ever built. Despite constantly being on the road, which I hear makes it nearly impossible to focus on music production, he still manages to make music that stays true to his roots. The song encompasses pretty much his entire career. I love it! If you were lucky enough to see him live, and didn’t get kicked out before he even went on for being a ruhTARD like me, then this may be a familiar tune. Long live mau5!
