Here’s the full version of Kaskade’s “Turn It Down,” the track we heard a preview of yesterday. This one’s a lot harder than what I’ve come to expect from him, will definitely end up in the House Banger category. Don’t listen to the song’s title and start your Saturday night right.

It’s been about a year since I discovered that Disco has made its big return to dancefloors across the nation. The man who led my ears to this discovery is Ashley Jones, better known as Treasure Fingers and one third of Evol Intent. His extensive library of remixes infiltrate your limbs with groove and his original tracks automatically categorize themselves under the ‘feel-good’ genre in iTunes. This year he’s made his way around the globe, showcasing his skills in Europe, Australia, Asia, and opened up shows for A-Trak here in the U.S. We got the opportunity to share a few words before he took the stage at Avalon in Hollywood last Friday, hit the jump to see what he had to say.

Here’s a new filthy remix of Porter Robinson‘s The State, courtesy of SKisM. The British producer goes bonkers on your cerebellum with 2 and a half minutes of w0mps and bass. This one’s set to release on Skrillex’s semi-mysterious new OWSLA record label (looking forward to what kind of talent he accumulates on there). Check the insane original mix (live) and the remix below.

Two new tracks from Kendrick Lamar and Asher Roth today off of Peter Rosenberg’s What’s Poppin Vol. 1 Mixtape. Asher kicks his alliterated flow over some smooth horns on “Goodbye” while Kendrick goes in for a verse on something more relaxed and spacey.

Asher Roth – Goodbye

Kendrick Lamar – My Mind Drifts

EDIT: here’s some more goodies from the tape:

J. Cole ft. Childish Gambino & SD – Who Datt Pt. 2 (Prod. by J. Cole)

Tyler The Creator & Domo Genesis – Odd & Twisted (Got it Twisted Freestyle)

Blending genres has always fascinated me — there’s universal similarities in responses to underlying themes in music across genres: hardcore and dubstep, hip-hop and soul, electronic and indie, etc. The first time I heard a dubstep track, the first thought that ran through my mind was “holy shit, this is the gangster rap of electronic music.” So it’s starting to make sense in my eyes why many acts have failed at bringing together hip-hop and dubstep into a matrimony of harmonious filth. Frat-rap with dubstep doesn’t mesh well; the message of the former is girls weed and nice things, whereas the latter serves the purpose of temporarily removing your head from the body it normally controls. Two completely different vibes. The album that led me to this conclusion is Wu-Tang Meets the Indie Culture Vol. 2: Enter the Dubstep, a collection of Wu-Tang tracks set to the impure sounds of some raw artists, including Excision, Datsik, and Evol Intent. They aren’t so much remixes into completely new tracks as they are Wu-Tang verses set to the tune of dubstep. It all comes together quite nicely; now the next step is to get some more impressive Big L dubstep re-works. Grab it on iTunes or Google can help you out.

1. Deep Space (Jay Da Flex & Yoof Remix)
2. New Year Banga (Rogue Star Remix)
3. Street Corners (Scuba Scythe Remix)

We posted Bassex‘s killer remix of Portugal. the Man’s Sleep Forever a couple weeks ago, and today we have another filthy rework from him, this time of Adele’s ‘Someone Like You.’ People have been bitching about an overabundance of Adele remixes but I’m still in my phase of infatuation with her voice. Bassex has got some serious talent and is making a name for himself, keep an eye out for more from him!

Real late on this one but better now than never. J. Cole’s been consistent with his Any Given Sunday series which has been a cool way to slowly build up momentum towards 9/27. Even though that date marks releases from Big K.R.I.T., 9th Wonder, Phonte, and others, it’s still Jermaine’s day. All eyes are on him to see what he does with the critical debut album. For this week’s drop, we got two unreleased tracks and another slick cover art featuring Jerry Rice. “Neverland” is okay – I’m not a big fan of the lengthy hooks on there that he’s used a few times. Luckily he sends a reminder of his lyrical prowess on the other track, “Heavy.”

J. Cole – Neverland
produced by Chase N. Cashe and J. Cole. Some shit we did out in LA! Not on the album, but something you should have. Ride to it. Shout to my nigga Chase!

J. Cole – Heavy
Did a lot of records in LA some months back. This is another one. Not album material, but its HEAVY. Produced by J. Cole.
