San Francisco! RÜFÜS / RÜFÜS DU SOL wasn’t about to skip out on NorCal while on the west coast. You’d be hard pressed to find an artist not take an advantage of coming to this amazing city…in our favorite venue of the area, no less. Not to mention they’re bringing Cassian for support! Honestly, what this band brings to the table combining dancy, smooth electronic with a full live band is everything we ask for in a show. Simply cannot wait for this.

It hints at everything that we love about Atlas and more – danceable and emotional. Their live show has received much acclaim; expect to hear new tracks as well as classics from this Sydney trio.

One of the most exciting things as a writer and fan is to see an artist come into their own greatness. In this case we have two rising stars that are showing a glimpse of just how great they will be. The passionately soulful and rhythmic vocals were so gently laid down by Skela that seems effortless. They come together with Jacobson’s flowy, ethereal production in such a way that oozes the feeling of crushing freshly fallen leaves in the fall. I expect to see a lot more coming from these two in the near future.

Future ClassicTickets SFTickets LA

FINALLY! Our favorite record label brings the crew out on a very special US tour that hits California starting tonight! At the top of the list, we got CLASSIXX bringing in their funky, disco DJ sets to run the night. I most recently saw them play live at Outside Lands, followed by a DJ set with STARFUCKER the same night. I personally could never get over their vibe. Both dates will have the odd, but smooth Sophie dropping her otherworldly bangers, and Cyril Hahn laying the cool groove.

SF and LA dates will have seperate undercards that I’m almost more excited for than the headliners! I said almost…Check the SF Lineup here and LA lineup here.

As festival season, which is seemingly year-round nowadays, draws to a close for 2015, San Francisco sees its annual isolated gathering on Treasure Island this weekend! Every year this lineup invites a wide array of cream-of-the-crop artists and upcoming superstars to get their own window to woo the open minded Bay Area crowd. Though, the party doesn’t start or end at the festival! With preparties and night shows, the entire weekend is jam packed with amazing musical talent, beautiful sunsets, and one breathtaking skyline.

Our most anticipated of the night shows is undoubtedly YACHT; kicking off their album release tour at the Independent. They have been on a roll for over ten years now, seeing their 6th studio album I Thought The Future Would Be Cooler release on October 16th, the day before their SF show! Come out after Treasure Island and see how YACHT got their acclaim as incredible live performers.

Longer nights. Deeper thoughts. Blood moons. Heavier feelings. We’ve come into this season with high hopes.

Amateur Best – White Noise

Amateur Best‘s blasé electronic pop efforts continue on from last month’s ‘They Know‘ with a little less dance and a bit more drone. Excitement surrounds his upcoming album.

Maribou State – Wallflower (Simona Drive Remix)

This Simona Drive remix of Maribou State is for solo sideline adventures. With just enough kick to keep the feet shuffling, it gets lost where it doesn’t to be found.

HEALTH – Flesh World (Kenton Slash Demon Remix)

Steady death magic techno from Kenton Slash Demon over HEALTH calls upon the secret warehouse vibes of yesteryear. Ride this one into the dawn.

BABEL – Made to Stay

BABEL‘s new track reminds us there’s always a tomorrow. Halfway through, the soothing guitar gets the feelings flowing ever thicker.

Thrupence – New Light

New light, new life. This subliminal soundscape chases the darkness as it fades to white. In the wake, the sun rises with Thrupence.

The Beach Boys – Kokomo (Viceroy Edit)

Summer never ends, as Viceroy well knows. He breathes new life back into The Beach Boys‘ classic track. Not that it ever left.

SPZRKT & Sango – How Do You Love Me (Chris McClenney Remix)

Remember to love as SPZRKT & Sango‘s HDYLM gets the jazzy keys treatment by Chris McClenney.
