A couple days ago Don’t Ditch got our toes wet with Tiesto’s spanking new album, Club Life. Just when you thought we only get a slice of the pie, everybody’s favorite Swede drops in to keep our shuffle going. Avicii is getting a well-deserved slot on Tiesto’s album with this graceful and uplifting remix.
If you ask anybody what’s the raunchiest dubstep, you’ll get a unanimous answer. Skrillex. I’ll give him some credit; Sonny Moore knows his way around a bass clef. However, when it comes to straight “HOLY SHIT” dub nobody gets my heart wobbling quite like Dodge & Fuski.

We got there relatively early, but for a sold out show, I was surprised to be able to just walk right into the venue. Small place with a balcony added for multiple options, but we went straight to the pit. All the opening DJs pulled out their best tricks, but I was ready to see what the deal was with Felix. I had no idea what to expect, but he delivered some of the grimiest and twisted, electro house that had me going hard for his whole set. Saving energy wasn’t an option through the constant ravey synths and bass that I just love to hear live.
Wolfgang’s set was scheduled for 12-145, and he peaked out with his gear around 11:59. He was greeted with the third “WOLFGANG” chant of the night, this one being the loudest by far. As soon as he took on the tables he slammed us with heavy bass and blasted the lights of his crazy ass live setup. He played everything we wanted to hear: Illmerica, Space Junk, Mornin After Dark Remix, and ended with Fire Power. There’s something about the way that Space Junk drops that sends a tingle down your spine when the synths hit. I was happy to hear a LOT of songs I’ve never heard that clearly had his sound, and I can say with confidence that his album is going to be monumental when it comes out.
1:45 rolled around and Wolfgang had to close shop among a house full of fans that were turned down of their encore requests and hungered for more. I gotta give the MVDJ award to Wolfgang, but he was followed closely by Felix. Wolfgang’s geometric set up with the lights and everything really changed it all, but Felix didn’t fuck around. I’m starting my search of his stuff now so help me if you know of good stuff! If you haven’t seen Wolfgang make more of an effort to do so. You’ll see a DJ set done right.

I’ve seen Wolfgang Gartner at Coachella, EDC, and TAO, so I knew he could rock the hell out of a festival. I was just curious to see how he’d bring it at a smaller, more intimate venue. Tiesto keeps dropping bangers and his new collaboration with Marcel Woods is no exception. This impressive track is a piece off of Tiesto’s new ‘Club Life Vegas’ due to release in April. Make it LOUD.
So the kings of tease relieved our blue balls by releasing their newest track today. We pretty much know what we’re going to get with Dada Life at this point, which isn’t the greatest thing, but I’m diggin’ the beat…I’m a sucker for hard hitting synths. Not 100% on the vocals, but they’ll probably grow on me. One thing I know for sure is that hearing this live would start a riot. Snag the full quality on beatport.

Our French friends with the leather jackets are finally making a comeback this year. I have a really good feeling about this especially judging by how great this song is. They have such a way with putting vocals in their songs that always stood out to me, aside from their epic pianos and funky bass lines of course. “Civilization” is right up there with DVNO, D.A.N.C.E., Valentine, and Tthhee Ppaarrttyy. We got the Jus†ice we want.

The biggest EDM festival in the world, Ultra is both a chance for up and comers (such as: Chris Lake, Skrillex, Feed Me) to establish themselves, as well as an opportunity for heavyweights (such as: Deadmau5, Tiesto, Kaskade) to defend their title. All eyes are on Miami as everyone and their mothers scramble to release new material. On that note, Chuckie just dropped his Dutch house remix of Hollywood Tonight. To be honest, I’ve steered clear of Dutch lately due to the excess amount of ear splitting and headache inducing sirens (cough cough Afrojack). However, Chuckie keeps it subtle and it flows smooth like cold milk through Frosted Flakes.
