Happy days! Lots of shows and events coming up. GA floor tickets to Knife Party sold out within 20 minutes and completely sold out today. SUCKS! I missed floor tickets by 1 minute. Still got balcony tickets because shows at the Wiltern are life changing. Especially ones like this. So many shows at risk of selling out. Crazy stuff. But yeah, saw Oliver this Thursday at Dance Right. Awesome. Love that club. Dillon Francis even came to hang that night, and then we saw him at the Observatory last night. Although he kept crying about people starting mosh pits, it still was a crazy ass, high energy show. Never get tired of his sets. Pictures to follow! Enjoy #79.

LA’s longest running weekly party is back again this Thursday with an especially awesome lineup. Dance Right sticks to getting the most fun DJs and caters to an overwhelmingly comfortable atmosphere. Everyone there is trying to get down and meet new like-minded people. I love that shit. Last time I was there, Treasure Fingers took the decks and I ended up losing my hat, phone, and took a cab back from LA to Orange County even though my car was down the street. Too much fun? After ticket sales came to a close a bit earlier than expected and a bunch of my friends lagged, this show ended up being one for the bros. Perfect! I could have called it, considering how small Key Club is and the fact that HARD was putting it on. But it was all built up to be a super epic and intimate show…for the bros. We were running late and I didn’t want to miss ANY of Gesaffelstein, assuming he’d perform before Brodinski. And I was just hoping they’d play together for a larger portion of the set. Starfucker made their way back to California after a 4 month hiatus to start their U.S. tour, and we weren’t about to miss it! For some reason, they chose to leave Los Angeles out of the loop, but still made for two SoCal dates that we got to go too. Our photographer Philip Mendoza shooting the Pomona stop. I know what you’re thinking, “Woah bro. Same band? Two nights in a row? Doesn’t it get boring? Repetitive? Lose it’s magic?” No! Not at all. First, let’s disregard the fact that these guys are one of the most entertaining live bands I’ve seen. This is of course, as far as their ability to be better than the recordings and their sheer RAW energy when it comes to performing live. Let’s also disregard the fact that their lightshow is equipped with multicolored lasers that move all over the venue, giving them the most magical silhouettes throughout the performance (this and this). It’s definitely a good thing when you can look back at where you came from (or look out your window in my case) and be happy or prideful about it. When seemingly every day people you grew up with are following their dreams and making it happen, it makes it that much more real. Young the Giant is a good example of this. They never gave up and everything eventually paid off in time. The following artists are on the same path. Oh fun fact: Irvine is the 7th safest city in America?
