Mortal Kombat, the most essential arcade fighter game from the 90’s, is back and bigger than ever. More importantly, the game is being graced with an epic soundtrack. Some big names include MSTRKRFT, Harvard Bass, Congorock, Felix Cartal and none other than Skrillex. Its weeks before the release of MK 9 but to hold us out, Skrillex dropped his theme song for the scaly green warrior, Reptile.
A couple days ago Don’t Ditch got our toes wet with Tiesto’s spanking new album, Club Life. Just when you thought we only get a slice of the pie, everybody’s favorite Swede drops in to keep our shuffle going. Avicii is getting a well-deserved slot on Tiesto’s album with this graceful and uplifting remix.
If you ask anybody what’s the raunchiest dubstep, you’ll get a unanimous answer. Skrillex. I’ll give him some credit; Sonny Moore knows his way around a bass clef. However, when it comes to straight “HOLY SHIT” dub nobody gets my heart wobbling quite like Dodge & Fuski.

Tiesto keeps dropping bangers and his new collaboration with Marcel Woods is no exception. This impressive track is a piece off of Tiesto’s new ‘Club Life Vegas’ due to release in April. Make it LOUD.
Regrettably, I wasn’t able to make it to Miami this year for the 13th annual Ultra Music Festival. However, thanks to the power of the almighty Internet (all hail), I got you guys covered.
Sure I could tell you about the history making 150,000 dance-loving people that attended. I could tell you about the impeccable sun-drenched weather or how trashed Downtown Miami got. Conversely, these are useless statistics. Let me enlighten on what actually matters, the music.
Laidback Luke
LL has been killing it the past couple years. His track selection is pretty extraordinary; the man drops straight bangers for an hour.
This young Swede impresses me more and more every time I hear his sets. Hands down, Avicii is at the top of the game right now. If there’s one kid that knows how to make a progressive set, this is it.
Dominating Ultra this year and possibly the best Dutch House DJ on the scene, Afrojack dropped it fat. Like Laidback Luke, Afrojack keeps you on your toes with banger after crazy banger. With the release of his new track, ‘Doing It Right’, Ajack’s future is looking bright.
fun facts released from Miami:
• Carl Cox, Steve Lawler and Ferry Corsten played at an invite-only party at the Mokai. Did I mention only 200 people were invited? Talk about intimate.
• Kim Fai announced he’s working with Snoop Dogg on a new track. Also, house legend Roger Sanchez is working on dance material for 50 Cent.

This is a BIG weekend for electronic dance music. Every year, Ultra Music Festival in Miami becomes the proving ground for DJs. The biggest EDM festival in the world, Ultra is both a chance for up and comers (such as: Chris Lake, Skrillex, Feed Me) to establish themselves, as well as an opportunity for heavyweights (such as: Deadmau5, Tiesto, Kaskade) to defend their title. All eyes are on Miami as everyone and their mothers scramble to release new material. On that note, Chuckie just dropped his Dutch house remix of Hollywood Tonight. To be honest, I’ve steered clear of Dutch lately due to the excess amount of ear splitting and headache inducing sirens (cough cough Afrojack). However, Chuckie keeps it subtle and it flows smooth like cold milk through Frosted Flakes.
As soon as new Ultra bangers are released I’ll get ‘em to you. Straight from Miami to your iTunes. Stay Posted!

@Witler’s theory on genre indecision prompted me to write about Moombahton. A rebellious new species, Moombahton (Moom-Buh-Tone) is an inventive genre that’s gaining popularity faster than a middle schooler with pizza lunchables. Reggaeton fused with Dutch house, who would’ve guessed? The godfather of this eccentric newborn is none other than Dave Nada of Nadastrom. Nada inadvertently created the genre while spinning at his cousin’s high school basement party. The opening DJ’s dropped slow tempo’ed reggae beats, putting nada in a pickle. Dave Nada flopped his balls on the table and slowed his house tracks down to a sloth like 108 BPM; what a beautiful mistake it was. It’s hard to describe the feel but Nada illustrates it as, “weird reggaeton techno shit at mid-tempo that has lots of bass and perverted chopped and screwed vocals that make people from all over the world grind on each other and get preggarz and think wow this shit is really fun and sometimes it makes me wanna stage dive and fight and fuck and fight and fuck and makes me hungry for mofongo and plantains.” I for one, love it.

Less than one month ago I introduced you hau5 lovin boys n’ girls to the 20 year old Estonian prodigy that is, Mord Fustang. Well, he’s crankin out tunes faster than Santa in December; the boy wonder is at it AGAIN! Those same elegant and distinct synths we’ve learned to love, now with more punch! I give you ‘Milky Way’.
