Coming down from Coachella just got a bit easier. Wonder duo Disclosure‘s newest track ‘You & Me ft. Eliza Doolittle’ was just posted to their Soundcloud. We vividly remember this track when they played it live this past weekend, and it was glorious. Their unique musical tweaks and turns are present throughout and Eliza Doolittle’s lovely vocals make it that much better.

Their album “Settle” is due out June 3rd. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that “Settle” is fixing to be one of the best albums of 2013. Pre-order it here.

Enjoy!

Damn. So Soulwax decides to make an appearance back in the remix scene after taking quite the break. These guys are known for touring for months on end. Rarely even stopping to take a break. A silence like this usually indicates lots of new sounds coming our way. Maybe a new album? Hell, it’s been 6 years since Nite Versions. Seems only fitting that they release a new album with all the others coming out this year.

This remix has that traditional analog sound that Soulwax has been known for. The complete vibe takes you on a darker ride. And the video…looks like someone with the spins trying not to KO after a night of debauchery. Good to have these lads back!

And just for gigs, here is my favorite remix of ALL TIME! Yeah I said it.

With world class acts such as Bit Funk, Amtrac, Mighty Mouse and Jupiter, Polaroid Thrusdays has had an incredible season. We’re wrapping it up this Thursday with Tech/Deep house legends Tube & Berger.

Raised in a quiet industrial sector of Germany, Tube & Berger’s Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic found music at an early age. Together, they made their breakthrough in 2004 when “Straight Ahead” sky rocketed to the top of the US Billboard Dance Chart. Soon after, the two established their own label, Kittball Records. Kittball was an immediate success and found itself among the ranks of the tech house elite.

If Ramesh Srivastava’s name was easier to remember/spell I probably would have Googled him a long, long time ago to find out whatever the hell happened to him. Back in the day, Ramesh was the frontman/genius of Austin’s Voxtrot. Though still relatively lesser known or underrated, Voxtrot remain an important staple in my music library. They sounded like the beautiful offspring of Belle and Sebastian and the Smiths. After the band broke up, I assumed that was it for Ramesh. In interviews, he had talked about phases of disinterest with indie music. He studied literature in school, which is probably why his lyrics are a wonder in themselves. That is to say, I thought Ramesh and music were 1-800-donzo but thankfully I was wrong. Ramesh has still got it, making music now under his given name. You can stream it here. DO IT. Please. Treat yourself.

The Wombats are an indie pop rock trio out of Liverpool. They took the music industry by storm when their 2007 debut album The Wombats Proudly Present: A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation went platinum. Since then they have released a few EPs and returned with their sophomore album, The Wombats Proudly Present: Modern Glitch in 2010. The energy and catchiness of their tunes cannot be understated in a live setting. If you’re all stoked on seeing Two Door Cinema Club and want to catch an artist that’s a little bit similar, you should be sure to check them out. Despite a lack of new material, they’re definitely an act that has all the artillery to put on one of the more memorable sets of the weekend.

My first trip to Texas for this world renowned festival was better than I could have ever imagined. Where to begin? The barbeque? The surprises? The free alcohol? Well first off, it’s not a “music festival” in the same way most of us are familiar with the term. No big fields. No main stage. No ticket necessary. Just so long as you’re ready for an adventure; ready to walk around to the hundreds of restaurants, venues, and bars of downtown Austin, Texas, you are in for a treat. Check after the jump for everything you’d want to know about SXSW and the highlights of 2013.

Earl Sweatshirt (of Odd Future) is set to perform solo at Coachella this year. The 19 year old was sent to boarding school in Samoa during Odd Future’s swift rise to fame and unable to perform with them during their Coachella debut in 2011. He released his first album EARL in 2010 at the tender age of 17. Before being sent away, Earl was a fan favorite within the group along with Tyler, The Creator. Both he and Tyler have become somewhat notorious for the violent acts they describe in their songs.

Earl has returned and recorded his next album Doris, which is set to be released this spring. He has since released two singles “Chum” and “Whoa.” They couldn’t be more different thematically, lyrically or musically at all. That variance, for me, is much appreciated. It’s really nice to see Earl showcase his talents as a writer. Opposed to him painting himself into a corner with Odd Future. With the possibility of special guests being at a high, you can guarantee I’ll be there on Friday.
