Nothing screams quite like a person swimming with sharks.. And nothing screams summer like a pool party on a roof in downtown Los Angeles. The two come together in a very nonviolent fashion to bring you a dance party unlike any other! Swimming With Sharks is a renowned series that’s seen the roofs and pools of LA and NY. This weekend they bring a hard hitting team of dance music connoisseurs from trusted record labels around the world. Hosted at the Standard Hotel, the event requires an RSVP which you can do by clicking here. Hang out. Catch some rays. But bring a change of clothes, because the party doesn’t end here.
KCRW has posed a question that has long been on my mind: WHO SHOT ROCK n ROLL? When did its consistent praise get gagged and shut out? I still love it. As does KCRW. So much in fact that they have a series of free events every Saturday of this month. Ironically enough, the series starts with a DJ set from electronic legend MOBY. Others along the series include Portugal. the Man, Raphael Saadiq and Band of Skulls. The event will be held at The Annenberg Space for Photography and starts each evening at 5PM on a first come first served basis. The RSVP online is just for a headcount, so just get there early and ensure your spot!
