Moombahton

@Witler’s theory on genre indecision prompted me to write about Moombahton. A rebellious new species, Moombahton (Moom-Buh-Tone) is an inventive genre that’s gaining popularity faster than a middle schooler with pizza lunchables.  Reggaeton fused with Dutch house, who would’ve guessed? The godfather of this eccentric newborn is none other than Dave Nada of Nadastrom. Nada inadvertently created the genre while spinning at his cousin’s high school basement party. The opening DJ’s dropped slow tempo’ed reggae beats, putting nada in a pickle. Dave Nada flopped his balls on the table and slowed his house tracks down to a sloth like 108 BPM; what a beautiful mistake it was. It’s hard to describe the feel but Nada illustrates it as, “weird reggaeton techno shit at mid-tempo that has lots of bass and perverted chopped and screwed vocals that make people from all over the world grind on each other and get preggarz and think wow this shit is really fun and sometimes it makes me wanna stage dive and fight and fuck and fight and fuck and makes me hungry for mofongo and plantains.” I for one, love it.
