The God of sampling finally made his leisurely descent from his cloud of musical ingenuity. Girl Talk, who last released Feed the Animals in 2008, made his 2010 debut this morning. All Day is Girl Talk’s 5th mash up album consisting entirely of samples. Renowned for integrating old school and new shit in a spectacular array of musical orgasms, compiling outdated bar mitzvahs songs into something beautiful. Girl Talk is considered the crème de la crème when it comes to mash ups; Girl Talk is to mash as Kobe Bryant is to basketball. I witnessed Girl Talk obliterate the Fox Theater in Pomona last year, got to meet him backstage and got his autograph; undoubtedly one of the best shows I’ve ever been to. Ever since dropping ‘Woo Boost’ earlier this year, carelessly, melting thousands of Bieber fans; Rusko wiggled his way up to #1 on my must see list. Last weekend, the genie came out of his bottle to grant me my wish. I wasn’t going to settle for anything less, front row center on the gate; I pressed through. There I was, 20 feet away from the king of w0mp; Rusko handed me a ticket, a roundtrip ticket down the yellow brick road, there and back. Embarking on a journey so epic that it’s difficult to document, restricted by words. Rusko opened his set with ‘Flux Pavillion – Lines In Wax’; thankfully I brought a napkin, I was already drooling on myself. The entire set was flawless, beginning to end, w0mp after w0mp. I’m not sure if it was the unassailable choice of tracks or the unreal amount of energy he brought to the stage. Rusko, my man, you performed the best set I’ve ever experienced in my entire life, a tip of the hat to you Sir.

I just got my hands on Rusko’s new track… taking a different angle, giving us a breather from the w0mp overload. I can dig it.

He may look like Leonardo Dicaprio’s gay little brother, but you can’t judge a Swede by his cover. For example, earlier this year, Avicii dropped one of my favorite tunes, Bromance. So normally I only post beats, but it’s time for a nice change. For those of you that don’t know me I’m a total cinephile. On a rainy day like today, nothing sounds better than a mug of hot chocolate and a solid film. Last night I watched one of the best films I’ve seen in a long time, “Oldboy”. Apparently South Koreans know how to get shit done; revenge, lust, social psychological concepts. Not to mention the antagonist, holy shit. Heath Ledger was pretty sick in Dark Knight but he’s got nothing on Ji-Tae Yu. I’m not going waste your time hyping it up, but let me just say it was one of the greatest endings I’ve ever experienced. MUST SEE 9.5/10
